Heritage Open Day: Come and see the spectacular recently-restored mosaics decorating the inside of the Church. This special open day will showcase the community engagement events we are putting on as part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund project. This year for Heritage Open Day we are celebrating the wonderful architecture and internal decoration of the church.
The architecture:
The Church of the Sacred Heart & St Catherine of Alexandria in Droitwich, Worcestershire is a Grade II* listed building and was built at the beginning of the 20th Century. It is believed to be unique in Europe - the whole of the interior is decorated with mosaics, above a marble lower level.
