Heritage Open Day: The line from Hull to Bridlington was built by The Railway King, George Hudson in 1846. The station building features a large covered concourse and a sculpture of a Barrow Boy by Stephen Carvill. The buildings retain lots of original features. The Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership will have a display, and details of the history of the station and the line, from Hull to Scarborough next to The Barrowboy sculpture in the main concourse. The original station buildings and platforms (numbered 1–3) were located a few yards to the west of the current station. These consisted of a train shed designed by George Townsend Andrews and similar to his work at Filey and Beverley.
