Treasures of the Thoresby Society's Archive

Heritage Open Day: Visitors to the Thoresby Society at the Leeds Library will be able to watch and enjoy a continuous slide show of a selection of our large collection of lantern slides of views of Leeds, and some of our collection of old maps, books and documents. As well as the slideshow we will be displaying some of our old maps, some of the more famous sales particulars, and recently acquired resources. There will be an exhibition of sketches and a plan of the house in KIrkgate of Ralph Thoresby, to commemorate his death 300 years ago, as well as other items from the archives with reference to building. Copies of our own recent publications: Miscellany (2023) and The Leeds Bantams, a testimony of the Great War (2024) will be available for purchase.
