Heritage Open Day: A particularly fine example of an early 19th century non-conformist chapel. Grade I listed and noted for its fine preserved galleried interior and mathematical tiled elevations, with a capacity of 1000. Dates from 1805 and enlarged in 1827. Former Calvinistic Independent chapel used by the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster from 1998 until it was taken on in January 2024 by a Strict Baptist congregation which formerly met at Brighton. The original Trust Deed states that the Chapel is a place of Christian worship to be frequented and enjoyed by a congregation of Protestant Dissenters of the Calvinistic persuasion professing’.
Listed Grade I, the Jireh Chapel dates from 1805, and was enlarged in 1827.
