St John the Evangelist Church, Golcar

Heritage Open Day: We are due to celebrate our Bicentenary in 2030. Each year brings new information about our history and we hope that this year is no exception. On Saturday 13th September, we are delighted to invite visitors to our Million church or Waterloo church as we approach our Bicentenary. The 1820s were a tempestuous time in British history. It saw the building of many churches, some of which have not survived. These churches were needed to provide worship for people moving following the Industrial Revolution.
Hear about the tragic death of one of our former clergy.
Visit our Commonwealth War Graves.
We offer visits to our church, including our unique Binns organ, which will be demonstrated during the day.
