Heritage Open Day: We would like to invite you to explore our listed eighteenth-century Quaker Meeting House in Low Bentham with its ancient graveyard filled with wild flowers and its flourishing allotments. Bentham Meeting House, also known as Calf Cop Meeting House, is a building of elegant simplicity set in deep quietness high above the Burton Road in Low Bentham, with wonderful views of Ingleborough and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. You are welcome to explore on your own, but also at 1500 we are offering two short talks. The first, by Professor Angus Winchester, will trace how the Meeting House's architecture reflects Quaker values and practices, and the second, by Trevor Blackwell, will outline the history of the Meeting House in Bentham.
