St Mary de Haura church, New Shoreham

Heritage Open Day: An architectural gem of a church which dates from 1103 with both romanesque and gothic styles. As well as some curiosities, there features from English history will be seen - one from the 12th, one from the 17th and one from 20th centuries. St Mary de Haura is the parish church of New Shoreham and dates from 1103. The largest church between Brighton and Worthing it is a Grade I listed building for both its historical and architectural distinctiveness. In his book 'England’s Thousand Best Churches', Simon Jenkins describes it as “a magnificent church with a superb Choir, a textbook of comparative 12th century style.
