Eyre Chantry Chapel

Heritage Open Day: The Eyre Chapel is a gem of ecclesiastic Victorian architecture. Remarkable mid-19th century Gothic revival Catholic Chapel, Grade II*, built by John Eyre, whose son was the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Glasgow, Rt. Reverend Charles Eyre. The architect was Charles Hansom who was strongly influenced by Pugin. An opportunity to view this outstanding building and elaborate interior with its classical stonework, carvings, beautiful stained glass windows and magnificent tiled floor. The chapel stands in peaceful surroundings above Bath with lovely views over the City.
