Bensham Grove Community Centre/ The newly discovered history of Bensham Grove Settlement 1919-1950
Heritage Open Day: Come and hear about Babies, Art and J.B.Priestly. The first Nursery in the North-East, the Unemployed Men's Club, Music, Dancing, and Strong Women. All at Bensham Grove Community Centre, Bensham, Gateshead. The Community Centre will be open throughout the day 1030-1600 where trained guides will talk about the research and information that has been discovered about the Lost Settlement Years of Bensham Grove. This includes previously unseen and unknown information recently discovered in the fascinating history of this community project which has stretched over 100 years.
There will be refreshments available and the Centre gardens will be open which are beautiful in all weathers.
