St Mary de Crypt Church- general guided tour

Heritage Open Day: General Guided Tour of St Mary de Crypt Explore one of the most ancient churches in Gloucester and the Tudor schoolrooms. Use our app and talking pens to discover stories from Gloucester’s past. Raikes, Whitfield, Jemmy Wood and more.

There will be a general guided tour of the Church at 11.00 on 12th and 13th September. Your guide will point out some of the key features of interest and history of the building. They will tell you about the new wall paintings recently discovered in The Sanctuary. Please note that this is NOT the Bones and Bells Tour and there is no need to book in advance. Tours of the Church are free but donations very welcome.

The church will be open for general viewing from 11.00-15.00 on 12th, 13th and 14th September.
