Heritage Open Day: Visit one of the oldest parish churches in Birmingham. Our open days will allow visitor access to the church without your visit being affected by services or other formal church activities. Normally, the church is not open outside formal events.
St Nicolas’ Church is one of the oldest parish churches in Birmingham, and is Grade 1 listed. The first documented church on the site was in 1231, but there’s evidence of a Norman church built around 1150. The central nave was added in the early 13th century and the tower and spire in the 15th century. The 60 meter high spire could once be seen from the centre of Birmingham.
