Heritage Open Day: St Thomas' is a small, Grade II listed, parish church set in a hilltop village above Holmfirth in West Yorkshire
We will explore the heritage & architecture of the church with its original architectural features and its connection with the village 1. Past record books (including some marriage, baptism and burial records) will be on display and available for perusal
2. Of particular interest will be the original stained glass window, designed by William Wailes (one of the 19th Century most noted stained glass
designers) in 1870, depicting the parable of The Good Samaritan, which has recently been fully restored and the stonework renovated -
there will be a display showing how this intricate work was carried out
