St. Nicholas Church, Thorne
Heritage Open Day: This ancient, Grade 1 listed church with many interesting architectural features, memorials and stained glass windows together with an exhibition about Thorne men who were involved WWII 80 years ago and VE & VJ day celebrations. The church will be open for people to view and ask questions about its history. Tours of the tower will be possible throughout the weekend. Many of the old Thorne families are mentioned on the memorials including those for WW1 and 2.
