St Michael and All Angels, Mount Dinham: The Architecture of Inspiration

Heritage Open Day: Welcome to St Michael's Mount Dinham! Our Heritage Open Days events are inspired by the architecture of this stunning Grade I listed building. Based on King Solomon's Temple, Jerusalem, it is renowned for its beautiful acoustic and Peregrine falcons. St Michael & All Angels is one of the most spectacular monuments of the Anglican Revival in Devon. Come and discover this stunning architecture and the extraordinary story of St. Michael's, designed by Major Rohde Hawkins in the early French style and built in 1868 in memory of philanthropist John Dinham. Its size and proportions provides one of the finest acoustics in Devon. Events include music across three days, with a special vocal recital from Matthew Jeffrey and talks by Dr Richard W Parker and Nick Dixon.
