St Clement's Parish Church
Heritage Open Day: Explore the ancient parish church of Sandwich, with its unique medieval tower. On Saturday 13th, timed tours will be available to climb the tower and visit the bell ringing room, to learn about the historic yet living tradition of 'change ringing'. Follow in the footsteps of St Edward the Confessor, St Thomas Becket, and countless more visitors who have played a part in St Clement's history of more than 1,000 years of worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Welcomers will be on hand both days to teach about the history of the building, and how it remains in use today. On Saturday 13th visits begin at 2 pm (no access is available earlier while a wedding takes place, but Ride & Stride welcomers will be available outside the building), and runs until 6 pm. On Sunday worship takes place at 8 am & 10.30 am, and general visiting begins at 1 pm, running until 5 pm.
