St John the Baptist Church
Heritage Open Day: Discover St John the Baptist Church , which contains one of the largest pieces of artwork in the North West. The Eric Newton (Oppenheimer) mosaic surrounding the high alter depicting Christ the King is dramatic and thought provoking. The mosaic was restored in 2022/23 with the help of lottery funding. The Church itself is iconic with its large white dome.
