Heritage Open Day: St John's Church was originally built for the Nicholson family who lived at the Mansion in Roundhay Park. Although rather off the beaten track, the stories of some of the people buried there offer unusual insights into the history of North Leeds Closed for worship since 2007, the church is one of Leeds Civic Trust's 'At Risk' buildings in the city. Learn about the dedicated work being undertaken by The Friends of St John's who will be in the North Churchyard for one of their open days. They will be happy to show you some important and interesting graves and chat about the history of the church. There will be tours of the North Churchyard at 11.00 and 14.00.
