Heritage Open Day: Trinity House is home to an historic maritime organisation. It is a Grade I listed building with its own Chapel (1505) and Banqueting Hall (1721) as well as other fascinating rooms. Maritime artefacts and paintings will be on display. The Corporation of the Newcastle upon Tyne Trinity House has been on its present site since 1505, yet remains unknown to many, a truly 'hidden gem'. The oldest part of the building has stood for over five centuries and has survived civil war, plague and great fires. Within the House, you will find a unique collection of ship models, fine art, books, charts, nautical instruments, furniture, silver and curios assembled over many centuries by the Brethren of Trinity House. The doors of Trinity House are not often open to the greater public.
