Greetland Heritage Event
Heritage Open Day: St Thomas’ Church Greetland and West Vale will be open to the public on Saturday 20th September 1030 until 1530. There will be a local history display and access to many areas and artifacts not usually available to the public. The church building will be open. Historic local maps and photographs will be on display. Church artefacts and areas of the building, not normally open to the public, will be accessible. A representative from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission will give talks at 1130 and 1330, outlining their work and focusing on the 8 CWGs in our graveyard.
A guided walk will leave church at 12 noon to explore Greetland in the past. Children will be invited to complete a treasure hunt inside and outside the building. Refreshments available.
