Heritage Open Day: Explore Northallerton’s past at the Heritage Hub! Discover prison tales, meet a costumed warrior, and learn about the Battle of the Standard with crafts and displays. Fun for all ages! Drop in to Northallerton Library on Saturday, 13 Sept, 1000-1300! Following its move from the High Street, the Northallerton Heritage Hub has found a new home inside Northallerton Library. Come and explore fascinating displays, including the story of Northallerton prison and one of its most remarkable inmates – Sophia Constable. Imprisoned at just 11 years old, Sophia was sentenced to three weeks’ hard labour and four years in a reformatory school for stealing a loaf of bread.
