Architecture in the Archives

Heritage Open Day: In this free, drop-in session, you’ll have the opportunity to see, touch and explore a range of rare, unique and fascinating items relating to architecture in Exeter and Devon. This event will offer people the chance to visit the University of Exeter Special Collections and to see and interact with some of the archives and rare books that are usually only accessed in our Reading Room. The items on display will explore the history of buildings in Exeter and Devon through literature, letters, photographs, artwork, and architectural plans. Visitors will be able to see and handle items with the help of experienced archive staff. There will be the opportunity to find out more about how we look after the material and what is involved in preserving it. Visitors do not need to book and can drop in at any point in the session.
