Daventry United Reformed Church

Heritage Open Day: An opportunity to see the fascinating interior of this Grade 2 Listed chapel that dates back to 1722. An opportunity to see inside this Grade 2 Listed chapel. The church began as a Congregational chapel in 1722, reflecting the Nonconformist movement of the time. In the 18th century, it also housed a Dissenting Academy, where notable figures including Joseph Priestley (the scientist who discovered oxygen) studied. The Daventry United Reform Church is opening it's doors in celebration of Heritage Open Days.
Heritage Open Days in England will take place in September 2025. This annual event is England's largest festival of history and culture, offering FREE access to historic sites and cultural venues. Visitors can explore hidden places, enjoy special events, and learn about the nation's heritage. No tickets required, just pop along
