Ritz Cinema; 30 years and counting!
Heritage Open Day: The Ritz Cinema, Thirsk which is over 100 years old and run by volunteers for 30 years, is offering behind the scenes tours, to areas not normally open to the public. There will be tours on the hour all day. These will be guided by experienced volunteers who will take visitors to areas that cannot normally be seen whilst the cinema is operating and explain the history of the building as a Mechanics Institute.
This is our 30th year as a volunteer cinema and that will be celebrated on the day. An exhibition will be available to view.
