Heritage Open Day: Come along to St Mary’s at 1430 for a talk on the history of the Shalford churches and their different styles of architecture, with a brief history of the present church's architect, Benjamin Ferrey and the Gothic Revival. Hear about the architectural history of St Mary's Church in Shalford and the Gothic Revival, and the architect who designed the present Church, Benjamin Ferrey, a pupil of Augustus Pugin. Dedicated in 1847, St Mary's is at least the fourth building on a site that has been sacred for around a thousand years. Our bell tower captain, Sally Schupke, will give the talk which will last about an hour, with refreshments available afterwards.
