Silver Wings: The US Army Air Forces in WWII Norfolk

Heritage Open Day: 80 years after the end of WWII, a war predominantly no longer remembered within living memory, a new project comes to Norfolk honouring the history of our local community, and the influence of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) during the war. This exhibition puts a spotlight on the untold stories of American servicemen and women stationed in Norfolk during the war - and the British communities that welcomed them. Through oral histories, creative workshops, and community events, Silver Wings is bringing this shared history to life.

Saturday 13 Sep, 1000 - 1600, join the celebration at our street party outside The Forum. Expect 1940s music & dancing, USAAF military vehicle display, family activities and food stalls.
