Heritage Open Day: A simple Grade II* listed Georgian Chapel with modest monuments and a full immersion baptistry. Come and explore this Grade II* chapel that was founded by Francis Cox and dates from 1792.
It evokes simple rustic Non-Conformist piety with unpretentious monuments, most of them hand-painted and a fireplace used by the ladies following baptism in the total immersion baptistry which is under a trap door immediately in front of the Georgian pulpit.
The chapel was acquired by the Friends of Friendless Churches some thirty years ago on its closure to save it from a conversion to a house, which would have destroyed most of its quality.
