Heritage Open Day: WWA marks 140 years of practice in Abingdon by opening its historic home, a former malthouse opposite St Helen’s Church, and is inviting visitors to explore an exhibition celebrating the firm’s legacy and its role in the town’s evolution. For 140 years, WWA (West Waddy Archadia) has been part of Abingdon’s evolving story, designing homes, schools, public buildings, and community spaces that reflect changing needs and values. Founded in 1885 by J.G.T. West, the practice evolved over three generations of the West family before entering a new chapter through partnership with Philip Waddy. In 2021, a merger with London-based Archadia Architects brought new expertise and shared values, forming the practice known today as WWA.
