Great Tales of Local Naval History with a little 'Turk Town' Mystery

Heritage Open Day: On this guided walk, within the tranquillity of Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery, you'll learn about the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar from the 1740s, and where they buried the dead. You'll hear many stories and find out about Dead Man's Mile! Gathering in the Mortuary Chapel, you'll be introduced to the history of the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar and the origins of the hospital cemeteries up to the present day. You'll hear about how funerals were conducted in the past and the great comparisons to today. Photographs will be displayed in the Chapel.

Then you'll set out on an informative guided walk through the Cemetery, and many stories connected to the Listed Monuments and Memorials will be told.
