Heritage Open Day: An exhibition of photographs set in a beautiful and historic church, incorporating:
A sale of pictures by local photographers;
Self-guided tours of the building and churchyard;
Concert by local Chamber Choir Chorate at 2pm St Michael’s is a beautiful and historic building, parts of which date back to the twelfth century. It was extensively remodelled in the mid-Victorian era by the church architect George Street, and amongst many other interesting features, it boasts a fine Arts and Crafts stained glass window by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones, beautiful sculptures, and the ornate Jacobean tomb of the merchant and royal jeweller Peter Vanlore.
