The Balloon Girl: The First and Fatal Flight of Mademoiselle Albertina is a 2016 book by Rosemary Chaloner that tells the true story of Louisa Maud Evans, a young girl who became a circus performer and then a balloonist, known as Mademoiselle Albertina. Rosemary Chaloner will present a talk on her book, which will detail her fatal flight in 1896 from the Fine Arts, Industrial and Maritime Exhibition in Cardiff, where she rose to 10,000 feet and disappeared.
