Returning for their winter concert, the Argyle String Orchestra presents two of the finest examples of Baroque string writing – Bach’s vivifying Brandenburg Suite #3 and Corelli’s masterful Christmas Concerto.
Alongside these works, the programme will feature the raw energy of Mendelssohn’s String Symphony #7, the hypnotic soundscape of Summa by Estonian minimalist composer Arvo Pärt, and a luscious Romance by oft-overlooked British composer Gerald Finzi.
The concert will be conducted by Adam Laughton and led by Tamsin Oldham.
Teas, coffees and homemade cakes available during the interval.
