German mini Christmas Market - 30 November - 11am-3pm
Shoppers will be able to enjoy a festive taste of Germany at a special Christmas mini market in Guildford town centre. The Guildford Twinning Association is hosting a mini German Christmas Market in the historic Guildhall, offering gifts, German Christmas bakery, and the traditional German favourite – Glühwein (mulled wine).
Visitors will find an array of Christmas stalls selling toys, stocking fillers, gifts, and festive treats. A special Selfie Scene will also be in place, giving you the chance to capture the perfect seasonal photo.
The German theme reflects Guildford’s longstanding friendship with its twin town, Freiburg im Breisgau. The two towns signed a “promise of lasting friendship” in 1979, and the bond continues to thrive today. Freiburg, located in Germany’s Black Forest region near the French and Swiss borders, is renowned for its vibrant Christmas markets – and this event brings a little of that tradition to Guildford.
