Elmhirst Heritage Centre Tour

Elmhirst Heritage Centre Tour

Welcome to the Elmhirst Heritage Centre, our new indoor visitor destination at Dartington Hall.

The Heritage Centre was once the private residence of Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst, and you can book a guided heritage tour to get a sense of how the building looked in its 1960s heyday. The period-refurbished ground floor rooms are now home to Dartington’s core collection of Modern British and American paintings and ceramics, whilst the upstairs rooms play host to a series of changing temporary exhibitions, inspired by our wider art collection and archive. This project was delivered with generous advice and support from the Jenna Burlingham Gallery group.

On arrival please head to the Welcome Centre, located under the arch at the entrance to the Courtyard. If you have booked tickets in advance, a tour guide will be waiting to meet you and will take you over to the Elmhirst Heritage Centre. If you are booking on the day, you can also book tickets at the Welcome Centre desk.

Accessibility
We regret that due to the heritage nature of the building, the Elmhirst Heritage Centre is not currently accessible for wheelchairs. We are dedicated to inclusivity and working on finding a solution.
