The next concert of West Wight Arts Association's 2025/26 season will be held on Saturday November 8th.
It will be given by Amiri Harewood. Amiri is an exciting young classical pianist who is currently combining his concert career with postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music. His recent solo recitals include concerts at St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Conservatorio in Venice, and the Mozart Music Festival in Forli, Italy. His Royal Festival Hall concerto debut with Chineke! Orchestra was universally acclaimed, the Financial Times commenting that he brought “confidence and a touch of grandiloquence to Grieg’s Piano Concerto.”
Amiri was recently named a Classic FM Rising Star, featuring on their acclaimed 30 Under 30 List.
Amiri’s typically adventurous programme for the Memorial Hall concert includes works by Shostakovich, George Walker, Granados, Bach and Brahms.
