This is a vibrant and colourful experience, where the beautiful medieval church is filled with a kind of art gallery of over 500 completed jigsaws for visitors to view and purchase.
The organisers have been receiving made up, complete jigsaws donated from all around for months. These have been temporarily mounted on card so they can be displayed around the Church for selection, looking in appearance like a constantly moving Art Gallery.
Stewards are on hand to help people with their chosen puzzles; packers to break up and put puzzles back in their boxes for purchase.
The pieces are falling into place and the team have about 500 puzzles this time, with 1000 and 500 pieces, plus a children's section of puzzles and a 6000 and 3000 Jigsaws on display. Wentworth Puzzles are helping to support the event with new donated puzzles on sale.
St Mary’s legendary ‘refreshment corner’ will be serving teas, coffees and cakes throughout the Festival, the largest in the region this Autumn.
Doors open at 10 am on both days, don’t miss this special treat, even if Jigsaws are not really ‘your thing’ it makes a great sight to experience the interior transformed with a constantly changing exhibition, the works of art replaced as each is sold! Prices range from £5 for 1000 piece puzzles, £3 for 500 piece ones and more for some new donated sets. Entrance £2, Children go free.
All Profits will go towards our Community Hub Appeal, the project to install better facilities in the Church, from heating to toilets and a refreshments area which will help all the varied users of the building, the largest in the area. Much progress has been made, but there is still some way to go towards completion and fundraising continues.
