Teddington Choral Society concert: When Icicles Hang
Teddington Choral Society and its Musical Director, Julian Collings are delighted to announce their forthcoming Christmas concert: When Icicles Hang”.
TCS will perform at the Landmark Arts Centre (Ferry road, TW11 9NN Teddington).
The variety of the program promises to create a performance full of magic and Christmas spirit.
* Cantata No 140 by Johann Sebastian Bach also known as Sleepers Awake. Bach composed this very popular church cantata in Leipzig for the 27th Sunday after Trinity and he first performed it on 25 November 1731
* A Winter's Night by Cecilia McDowall. A five movements Christmas Cantata which incorporates several popular carol melodies well known by the public.
*When Icicles Hang by John Rutter. A set of choral settings based on words from Campion, Shakespeare and Anon.
* Selection of Christmas carols which will allow the audience to join the singing.
Teddington Choral Society will be accompanied at the piano by Conal Bembridge
