Croydon is set to sparkle this December with A Very Croydon Christmas, a joyful weekend of music, outdoor arts, craft workshops and family activities across the town centre. From traditional carols and mulled wine to playful street theatre and interactive installations, this three-day festival offers something for everyone.
Music & Performance
• Carol Concerts at Braithwaite Hall – Kick off the festivities on Friday evening with timeless carols, festive treats, and mulled wine.
• The Wandle Ceilidh Band – Join in lively ceilidh dances and folk tunes.
• Baby Gospel – A family-friendly concert blending gospel, soul and festive favourites, perfect for all ages.
• Sonia Sabri Company: Mughal Miniatures – The Elephant & The Drummer – An uplifting outdoor performance combining Kathak dance, theatre and live music.
Street Theatre & Spectacle
• DJ Frietmachine – Fresh from the Netherlands, this surreal installation lets audiences “drop the beat” and create their own fries.
• The Living Snow Globe – Step into a magical winter wonderland with The Snow Queen at its centre.
• Miss Murphy’s Pantomime Ponies – Glittering costumes, cheeky routines and plenty of audience interaction.
• Matt Pang’s Curiosity Christmas Tree – A roaming, bell-ringing tree with a mischievous personality.
• The Giant Elf – A towering elf spreading festive cheer along the high street.
• Storytelling with Andy Copps – Interactive festive tales for children and families.
Crafts & Creativity
Hands-on workshops at Croydon Clocktower include rosette-making, Romani lucky horseshoes, and festive crafts with illustrator Chantelle D’Souza. Perfect for families looking to take home a handmade Christmas keepsake.
