It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and Queensgate Shopping Centre is sparkling with festive magic once again!
From a dazzling Light Switch On and joyful choirs to Santa’s Grotto, real-life reindeer, and even roaring dinosaurs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas in Peterborough.
The festivities begin on Saturday 22 November, when Queensgate’s spectacular Christmas Light Switch On brings Central Square to life from 12pm to 4:30pm, with glittering displays, live music, and entertainment for all ages. Presented by PCR’s Kev Lawrence, this is the most magical start to the festive countdown.
Queensgate will also host a LUSH Snow Fairy Pop-Up on 22–23 November, perfect for those who love a little sparkle and scent with their shopping!
Leading up to the ‘big day’, the centre will be alive with festive cheer. Shoppers can browse the Christmas Gift Market on 29–30 November in North Square, soak up the sounds of the Rhapsody Choir (29 November) and Cathedral Choir (30 November), or enjoy the Salvation Army Choir and Band (6 December).
The festive fun continues with even more performances, including the Salvation Army Band on 11 December (6pm–7:30pm) and again on 13 December (10:30am–2pm). On the same day, Rent A Dinosaur will stomp into Central Square for a roaring appearance that’s sure to delight little explorers!
No Christmas at Queensgate would be complete without a visit from the man himself — Santa’s Grotto will be open 16–23 December (12pm–3:30pm) in Central Square in conjunction with Peterborough Positive and National Literacy Trust, giving families the chance to meet Father Christmas before he sets off on his sleigh.
And don’t miss the real-life reindeer visiting on 20 December, alongside another beautiful performance from the Salvation Army Choir (10:30am–2pm).
