Concert - Hiawatha's Wedding Feast/from the Bavarian Highlands
A great concert coming up - the evocative and tuneful setting of the tale of Hiawatha's Wedding set to the famous poem by Longfellow by one of the greatest composers of his generation, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor who earned the nickname the African Mahler although he was born in London.
We are pairing this with a wonderful song cycle by Elgar from the Bavarian Highlands with words adapted by his wife Alice following a holiday they enjoyed in Bavaria.
