This new, mixed media workshop will get you combining your gel plate printing skills with your collage practice to create a unique mixed media artwork.
The morning session will be spent deciding on a focus for your artwork and creating prints on the gel plate that you’ll include within your piece, as well as sourcing other printed materials from our stash of papers. Then, in the afternoon, you’ll bring it all together to create a stunning cohesive artwork.
Shelley, from Ways of Seeing, will be guiding you through the whole day. All materials and tools to take part in this workshop will be provided. Each participant will have a 6x 6 gel plate to work with for the duration of the day. Acrylic paints and pens will be available to use, along with paintbrushes. There will also be some pastels and coloured pencils. Glue, scissors, cutting mats and knives will also be available for each participant to use. However, do feel free to bring in any texts, papers, specific imagery, along with favoured paints and pens that you fancy using in your artwork.
As this is a longer session, we suggest that you bring a packed lunch to keep you fuelled. We’ll take break at 1pm for half an hour where you’ll be welcome to eat in the hall or go out to grab some air. Tea, coffee & biscuits will be available throughout the day.
