Shelley, from Ways of Seeing, will be guiding you through the challenging process of image transference using a gel plate. This process takes a little longer than other gel plate techniques, so we’re offering a lengthier workshop session. Image transference using a gel plate can create some really interesting and eye-catching prints. You’ll be working with glossy images and text, acrylic paints and pens to create your prints over the course of the day.
All materials and tools to take part in this workshop will be provided. Each participant will have two 6x 6 gel plates to work with for the duration of the workshop. Additionally, each participant will be provided with their own pack of mini-acrylic paints & paint brushes which will be used to enhance and personalise your prints.
Do feel free to bring in any high gloss magazine-style images that you fancy playing around with. Please note, not all printed materials work with this process, so not everything is guaranteed to work. We have trialled many printed materials and will bring with us what has worked for us and there will be enough for everyone to experiment with.
Participants will be able to take home all their prints and creations as well as any left-over paint from the set and the paint brushes. As this is a longer session do bring a packed lunch to keep you fuelled, we’ll take break at 1pm for half an hour. Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided.
