Julia Trevelyan Oman’s exquisite designs bring the story wonderfully to life, from the 19th century German home of the Stalbaums – which features a Christmas tree that transforms beyond one’s imagination – to the Kingdom of Sweets, where everything is sugar and sparkle.
With some of ballet’s most-loved and familiar melodies created by Tchaikovsky, this year’s The Nutcracker has been dazzling audiences already with its magic in terms of performance and production and is now sold out for the rest of its run at the Royal Ballet Covent Garden, until January.
