If you have ever wondered 'are there any community choirs near me?' then the answer is firmly yes!
The Maidenhead Rock Choir is led by vocal teacher Lucy Hewes. Rock Choir is unequalled in the opportunities we can offer our members - from performing at top music and arts venues like the O2 Arena and on top of the BT tower to raising money for some of the UKs best-loved good causes such as Missing People, Sport Relief and local charities like Ty Hafan in South Wales. Appearing on national television and singing with celebrities like Deborah Stevens has been exciting and exhilarating, but Rock Choir members still know the importance of supporting our local community causes and events!
Joining a choir can be a brave step to take for some and in light of this Lucy tries to make it as easy as possible for you by giving the opportunity to have a FREE taster session and then to have a chat with her about singing. Rock Choir is the leading group in community singing. We launched our FREE choir taster sessions back in 2005 and have 20 years experience giving members of the public who are new to community choirs the chance to try joining a choir without the need to audition or read music.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'Being part of the choir has given me a wonderful opportunity to belong to a fantastic venture into the world of contemporary music and given me a new lease of life. Singing in the choir is a much better 'pick-me-up' than any anti-depressant tablet prescribed by a doctor. I come away after the weekly choir session with the best feeling ever and the companionship with fellow members is something money can't buy.' - Janet (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
