If you have always wanted to join a choir locally, you can!
The Chesterfield Rock Choir is led by vocal teacher Rachel Modest. The local men and women who have joined the choir who live in Chesterfield and further afield in Derbyshire come from all walks of life and most had no singing experience or ever thought their singing journey would ever take them on TV or radio (not compulsory :-) ). Once you join the choir you will find you learn the songs by rote from a brilliant set of resources and you will be amazed how quickly you go from 'not sure' to 'performance ready'. The songs are uniquely arranged in a way that helped Rock Choir originally establish the simple high/middle and optional low voice approach to make songs easy to sing yet still challenge you in places.
Rock Choir is the no audition, no need to read music choir and it was the first of its kind in the country. The best thing of all is you can try a FREE singing taster session before you join the choir. Just go to rockchoir.com and you'll find out all you need to know. You can also find out about your local choir leader, Rachel and how to join the Chesterfield choir.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'I have been a member of Rock Choir for 3 years and I can honestly say that joining was the best thing I ever did. I look forward to my weekly rehearsals and leave the hall on a high! Long live Rock Choir!!! ' - Gilly (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
