Festive Family Fun at the National Science and Media Museum

This festive period the National Science and Media Museum will be hosting an exciting programme of seasonal events, from a magical fairy trail to classic Christmas films and snowy science shows.

Running from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the programme includes:
Festive Films at Pictureville Cinema (from 6 December)
Holiday classics including The Polar Express in IMAX 3D, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Home Alone, and Arthur Christmas, with festive food and drink offers throughout December.

Fairies Trail (from 13 December)
An interactive trail where families solve clues to find fairies hidden throughout the museum, inspired by the famous Cottingley Fairies story. The original cameras are on display in the new Sound and Vision galleries.

Winter Wonderlab (from 13 December, daily at 11:30 and 14:00)
High-energy live science show featuring fire, frost and flashing lights.

Stop-Motion Animation Workshops
Create your own mini winter movies inspired by festive favourites like The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Snowman.
