Lakeside welcomes world renowned Borealis installation
The Northern Lights come to Essex this Christmas
This Christmas, Lakeside Shopping Centre invites guests to step into a world of wonder with a stunning immersive art installation that recreates the awe-inspiring beauty of the Northern Lights.
From 2nd – 15th December, the Lakeside lake boardwalk will come alive every evening with this breathtaking display - a mesmerising blend of light, colour, and music. This free installation is the perfect opportunity to gather up friends and family and share a magical festive experience.
Created by artist Dan Acher, Borealis combines technology and the elements using beams of light to travel through cloud particles, creating a magical illusion of the Northern Lights. The display is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, adding an extra layer of emotion and ambience to the experience.
The display’s appearance is influenced by the weather conditions, no two moments are ever the same - ensuring that every guest enjoys a unique and unforgettable experience.
Having appeared in iconic cities including Tokyo, Sydney, and Paris, the spectacular Borealis installation now comes to Lakeside - offering guests the chance to experience this international phenomenon right on their doorstep.

As well as the Borealis installation, Lakeside will be hosting a troupe of roaming entertainers and is home to 250 stores, making it the perfect destination for a festive visit this Christmas.
