‘Around the World’ Themed Wine Tasting
On Saturday, the 24th January at 7:45pm come and banish those January blues, with a super fun, informative and sociable wine tasting event at Gurkhas Nepalese & Indian Restaurant in Penicuik, Midlothian, organised by Mercurials Tastings.
Qualified wine expert Joaquim Pestaña Sitjes will be taking guests on a ‘round the world tour’, incorporating a fine selection of quality wines to sample. Joaquim will be using his vast knowledge of wine to talk you through each sample.
These will be paired with the mouth-watering, fresh and flavoursome dishes, served up ‘Thali’ style i.e. a platter with lots of tempting, smaller servings of various dishes and sides, from poppadoms, pakora to curries and naan breads.
There will also be some live music to enjoy, throughout the evening.

Priced at £50pp, this includes six wine samples and the Thali style cuisine. The event starts at 7:45pm with the tasting session and meal due to finish by 11pm.To book please call the Gurkhas Nepalese & Indian Restaurant on 01968 677 777 where a £20 deposit is required to secure a place by 15 Jan ’26 (with balance due on the evening) or the full payment of £50pp after 15 Jan ’26.
