FREE festive food pop-up & live choir performance in Richmond

Ocado is bringing a taste of the nation’s favourite Christmas food traditions to west London, with a free pop-up featuring foods inspired by real consumer research into the UK’s festive food habits.

On Friday 12th December from 12pm to 2pm at George Street, Richmond, visitors can take a break from their Christmas shopping to enjoy a live carol performance featuring the Ocado choir of Ocado delivery drivers and staff, and supported by the Soul Choir - with a very special guest appearance from pop-princess Sophie Ellis-Bextor at 1pm. Together, they will perform “Season’s Eatings” - a reworked Christmas carol created by Ocado that’s inspired by the nation’s wonderfully varied festive foods.

The event is part of Ocado’s Christmas campaign which captures the playful, modern-day British approach to Christmas and celebrates the sometimes unusual but always beloved food traditions that make this season so special. Ocado’s special “Season’s Eatings” food truck will serve free samples of revamped dishes inspired by real British Christmas food traditions uncovered in Ocado’s poll - such as tikka pigs in blankets, crab rarebit, and Dubai chocolate brownies with pistachio cream.

Ocado’s research shows that over half of Brits (55%) have festive food traditions, from mince pies topped with cheese (10%) to seafood for breakfast (9%). A third (30%) say they’re tired of the same old Christmas foods, while 40% say they’re willing to incorporate new cuisines and flavours into their Christmas meal. The pop-up celebrates these quirks, showing that there’s no official way to do Christmas - only the way you do it!
