As we round off our Railway 200 celebrations, we're delighted to welcome back the beautifully restored, diesel-powered North Eastern Railway Electric Autocar No. 3170, thanks to the NER 1903 Electric Autocar Trust.
If you're looking for something to do with the family this Twixmas, why not blow away the cobwebs with a heritage train ride between Pickering and Grosmont stations? We've put together a few itinerary ideas, including the very popular Rail Trail walk for you to make the most out of your visit. So, step aboard this remarkable piece of history and enjoy a cosy journey through the North York Moors National Park this festive season.
Timetable
Services run between Pickering, Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont stations. You can begin your journey at any of these stations, but please make sure you’re able to return to your starting point within the timetable. Unfortunately, due to the layout of the train, these services are not accessible for wheelchair users. If you wish to travel on the Autocar, you’ll need to be able to board and step up to the seating area without assistance.
