A care home in Salisbury is embracing the yuletide season by opening its doors for a special reminiscence event.
Salisbury Manor, on Shapland Close, is inviting people to revisit traditions from Christmas past by joining residents and team members on Thursday 18th December from 2 pm – 4 pm.
The event is part of Care UK’s ‘Step into Christmas’ initiative, which aims to rekindle festive customs that residents remember from their childhood by reliving them and sharing them with the local community.
On the day, Salisbury Manor will be welcoming members of the local community to the home to participate in carol singing, alongside indulging in a host of festive treats such as mulled wine and mince pies.
Tracey Pearce, Home Manager at Salisbury Manor, said: “Christmas is such a special time of year and this event allows us to honour memories from residents’ childhoods, bringing them to life once again.
“This is also a wonderful opportunity to unite the community and pass on traditions that may otherwise be forgotten.
“We’d like to encourage locals to join us to celebrate the festive season and bring the memories of Christmas past to Salisbury.”
